Introduction to TFT

TFT (Thin Film Transistor) is a thin film field effect transistor.

It can "actively" control individual pixels on the screen, which can greatly improve reaction time. Generally, the reaction time of TFT is relatively fast, about 80 milliseconds, and the viewing angle is large, generally reaching about 130 degrees, mainly used in high-end products. Thus, high-speed, high-brightness, high-contrast display screen information can be achieved. TFT is an active matrix liquid crystal display, which is driven by an "active matrix" method. The method is a transistor electrode made by thin film technology. The scanning method is used to "actively pull" to control the opening of any display point. When the light source is illuminated, the light is firstly transmitted upward through the lower polarizing plate, and the light is transmitted by the liquid crystal molecules, and the display is achieved by shading and light transmission.

Many of the new generation of color screen phones support 65,536 colors, and some even support 160,000 colors. At this time, TFT's high contrast and rich color advantages are very important.

The main components of the TFT type liquid crystal display include a fluorescent tube, a light guide plate, a polarizing plate, a filter plate, a glass substrate, an alignment film, a liquid crystal material, a thin mode transistor, and the like.

With the gradual popularization of mobile phone color screens, the material of mobile phone screens has become more and more important. The color screen of mobile phones varies with LCD quality and R&D technology. There are several types of TFT, TFD, UFB, STN and OLED. In general, the more colors that can be displayed, the more complex images can be displayed, and the layers of the screen are more abundant.

In addition to the above-mentioned major types of LCDs, other LCDs can be seen on some mobile phones, such as the Japanese SHARP GF screen and the CG (Continuous Crystalline Silicon) LCD. The two LCDs are completely different types, GF is an improvement of STN, which can improve the brightness of LCD, while CG is a high-precision high-quality LCD that can achieve QVGA (240 × 320) pixel resolution.
