The Principle Of Capacitive Touch Screen

- May 09, 2018-

A capacitive touch screen is a transparent, special metal conductive material applied to the glass surface. When the finger is touched on the metal layer, the capacitance of the contact changes, so that the frequency of the oscillator connected to it changes, and the position of the touch can be determined by measuring the frequency change. Since the capacitance varies with temperature, humidity, or grounding conditions, its stability is poor and drifting tends to occur.

Difference between capacitive touch screen and ordinary resistive touch screen

Generally speaking, a capacitive touch screen is a human-computer interaction mode that supports multi-touch, and a common resistive touch screen can only perform a single point of touch.

For example: Apple iphone, Nokia N8, Nokia E7 capacitive touch screen, you can use both hands to touch the screen to operate, web page picture browsing and other operations

Nokia 5800, n97; HTC d600 s90, 5230 and so on for the resistive touch screen, only a single point of operation.
